Cold cabbage leaves placed in her bra while she sleeps will draw any stored milk out and sooth like an anti inflamatry. You sought of end up smelling like boiled cabbage in the morning but the results are marvelous if kept up or atleast three to four days in a row. Most tablets that dry up milk that are available from your doctor have many side effects and the most common is nausea and vomiting and that is not what you need when you are looking after a new born. Good luck.
cold compresses(ice pack) helped me along with three kids. or a hot shower. they are basically muscles that are stressed, so treat them the same. the cabbage does help dry them up tho!
First and foremost what's stupid is people leaving remarks like the above one about not breastfeeding. IT'S A WOMANS RIGHT TO OR NOT TOO. But to answer the question the cabbage leaves work wonders and what I found to work was a warm towel. I had my husband to wrap a hot towel around me tight as I could stand and that helped a great deal. I know the feeling, hope the pain leaves soon.
I third the cabbage leaves remedy. I've never tried this myself but I've heard that it works great. Good for her for choosing not to breastfeed. Breastfeeding is gross to even think about, let alone do.
i have 2 kids and the only relief i got was when i would fill the tub with very warm water, close to hot, and lay on my belly in the tub with out my breast touching the bottom of the tub and just lay there for about 15 minutes, you shopuld do this at least three times a day, it doesnt help to squeeze the milk out because the more you squeeze the more milk you are building up. also i heard cupping a peice of cold cabbage over the breast works wonders to( but never tried it)

Call her doctor right away, they can give perscription to take care of this. This is quite painful if not dealt with right away.
