well go to the doctor …NOW!!!! PAy for the visit ,and see… there are programs out there that will help you.Do not ,not go to the hospital just because you have no money ,you have only one life.what are you gonna do?
regradless if you have insurance or you don't If you found a lump on your breast go get it checked if it's cancerous you would want to catch it early so you can not only save your breast but more important your life. There must be free care in your state, what do the foreigners in your state do for medical care.I know alot of people have this thing about going on the State Medical Insurance but it's better to have something, than nothing, and your life is more important than your pride.
just for the record. lumps that are painful are normally fibris cysts. if you have pain with the lump it is most likely not cancerous. you could have a blood screen for cancer done without actually going through a biopsy. depending on the city you live in there should be places that do same day testing at reasonable prices
Please take some time out and check with Department Of Social and Health Services online. They can help you find a physician in your area who will work with you on a sliding fee scale or for free depending on your income level. I have a friend who had the same problem and was jobless at the time. We were fortunate to run into an event in a park with a mobile unit for women which did a mammagram on my friend and then referred her to a physician
which helped those without insurance. What a relief that was. Please don't wait or ignore it. My mother had breast cancer and because she caught it early is still alive today.
Your life is worth the effort and so is your peace of mind.
There is no way to tell if a breast lump is cancerous or not without investigating it. I have been a registered mammographer for over 15 years and I can tell you first hand that there are no set signs and symptoms of breast cancer. I have heard many people say that if a breast lump hurts, then it is not cancer….NOT TRUE. I have plenty of patients who ignored a painful lump because of this and had their breast cancer grown unchecked for months and unfortunately even years in some cases. Call your local Pubic Health Department. Even in our very small town, we have a program called Care For Her, which will provide mammograms and even follow up biopsies/treatment etc. Not only could acting on this save your life, it could give you a better QUALITY of life as well.
Check with the hospital or the cancer society they should have programs where you can get free mamograms and then you will be able to find out and it won't cost you anything. I have no insurance either and get a free one every year.
