I drink an organic "Womans Nursing Mom" tea made by a company called Yogi Teas and it does really seem to influence the supply that I have the box says that it has the following herbs….
Chamomile Flower
Fennel Seed
Stinging Nettle Leaf
Anise Seed
Fenugreek Seed
English Lavender Flower
I included a link for their site and for the La Leche League they are a group that promotes breast feeding and their site has a wealth of info.
Good luck from another nursing Mommie
My sister had the same problem and her holistic Doctor told her to drink one beer a day. Something in the barley (I think?) increases milk production. Also pumping and heat can increase your milk.
According with my lactation nurse, one of the best way for to increase the milk production is to stimulate the breast every two to four hours, even if the baby isn't with you, you can use a pump or your hand and put the milk in a bottle; and you needs to have a good eating habits, don't skip meals, and try to eat enough proteins because those increase the milk production too. Another thing is to drink enough liquids, milk, juices, but especially water, and avoid the alcoholic drinks because some can passed thru the milk to your baby and harm him; and you have to be care full about what medicines and supplements you are taking because some drugs can cause disminution of milk production. Try to nurse you baby in good position, and enjoy the moment, without hurry, and try to be relax, because the stress is another cause to decrease the amount of milk.I hope you can have a good answers from everybody!!!
This might sound crazy , but it worked for me when I was nursing. My mother use to make porridge out of yucca also called cassava plant. (It's a plant or vegetable that looks like a bark of a tree when cut open it's white inside.) You have to grid it and cook it like you would make out meal. It's delicious and it worked for me every time, try it. Also drink a glass of water every time before feeding your baby. Good luck and enjoy your baby.
If you have access to fresh shell seafood, countryside folk say it's effective. Drink lots of liquids. Not just water and fruit juice, adding soup to your meals will also help.
When i breastfed my son 8months ago,i have plenty of milk to offer. It just flows generously ,the fact that i don'T HAVE THAT BIG BREAST.It's bcoz of what i ate.MY mom MADE ME THIS SEA-FOODS SOUP(CLAMS,SHELLS).hAVE YOU HEARD OF THE PAPAYA?the GREEN PAPAYA?YOU MIX IT WITH THE SHELLS OR CLAMS WHEN YOU MAKE SOUP.it'S REALLY GUARENTEED.

I've heard drinking Chamomile tea is supossed to work -but what has been working for me is oatmeal -eat lots of it – studies say it supossed to help increase milk production by 15% or more – I myself was having a lack of supply the first 4 weeks so I began eating oatmeal twice a day -and within a week -I was not having problems anymore -I was even producing a little too much that I had to pump often at first now I dont even need the oatmeal -as far as I know the oatmeal did help unless my body just kicked it on itself -but it wouldn't hurt to try
Try having food with lot of fenugreek seeds. Also have the oats maybe twice in a day to help milk production. Also you can buy the new Horlicks which is for lactating mothers which has all ingredients for milk production.
