If a teenager at school get caught smoking a herbal cigarette, can the school punish the teenager i?

I say no, because herbal cigarettes DO NOT contain any tobacco and has no nicotine content. As the law stands, a cigarette has to have tobacco which has a measurable amount of nicotine. Do you agree? By the way, herbal cigarettes do taste good. Can you still get cancer?

YES YES YES. Any foreign element in your body, WILL affect you. Is it punishable by school, absoultly.

If the school has a no smoking policy then the student can still get in trouble, it is still smoking, makes no difference whether or not the cigarette conatins tobacco. You can still get cancer from herbal cigarettes because they also produce tar and carbon monoxide like tobacco cigarettes and that is what gives you cancer, not the tobacco.

  3. yes!Even though herbal smoking mat not be harmful, the kids who see the smoker doing the smoking, they will be influenced by them regardless of what they smoke.

  4. Yes, the school can still punish you since the rules state "no smoking." I'm guessing the no smoking rule applies to any substance being smoked. As for cancer… any inhalation of smoke is bad for the lungs and can therefore contribute to cancer.

  5. Uh..Yes. I got caught drinking in High School..Many many many years ago. Man, did I get busted. I was suspended for a week and what was worse was all the gossip going around about me when I got back to school, not to mention the looks. It was by far worse then the punishment that my parents gave me.

  6. If the school policy says no smoking, it means no smoking.

  7. You are smoking and most schools have a zero tolerance policy on smoking. Yes, they can give you cancer as well. They are much 'heavier'-the smoke is denser-and can cause you just as many problems as regular cigarettes. Take it from someone who started smoking in middle school at the age of 12 and am now in the process of quitting-PUT ALL THE CIGARETTES DOWN NOW BEFORE IT GETS TO BE TOO BAD OF A HABIT!! I would have never thought I'd become a smoker like I am now, but it's just a bad habit that creeps up on you and takes hold before you know it. I started smoking to fit in and smoked clove cigarettes to be different for awhile. Now, 16 years later, thousands of dollars wasted and potential health problems to come from smoking, I don't even talk to any of those people anymore and haven't seen them in over 10 years! Please take my advice and stop now!

  8. If the school has a rule against it, then, yes. Aspirin, ibuprofen and Tylenol arent your normal "drugs" but at my daughters high school they're illegal to have on campus unless a parent or nurse administers them.

The school may not want to have to distinguish between "herbal cigs" and "marijuana cigs" so they just say "no cigs". Give them a break. It won't kill you to not smoke it for 6 hrs a day.

  9. Yes, the school should punish and your body would have some reaction either from the min of a high or sweating or to the max. of a heart attack, stroke , or could kill you.
