far as i can tell from your question probably c. the law. because when jesus came the law was nothing and it would no longer save people but they didnt want to listen to jesus. but drinking CAN be a sin and smokeing IS a sin.

The law, we are condemned by it, but also because of it there was made a way for us to get into heaven.

1 Corinthians 15:56
The Message (MSG)
56 It was sin that made death so frightening and law-code guilt that gave sin its leverage, its destructive power.
Amplified Bible (AMP)
56 Now sin is the sting of death, and sin exercises its power [upon the soul] through [the abuse of] the Law.
Faithful believers love God & His Law, knowing that they are saved by Grace, not by following the Law, for we can't be perfect. i.e. Following the 100% Torah-observant Messiah is not frightening or ~risky~ because Abraham was deemed Righteous by his faith and we have the proof that God kept His Promise to send His Salvation. 'Yeshua' means "God's Salvation." Following Yeshua is The Way!
