The first step is truly wanting to stop. Smoking is completely psychological. If you really want to, you can stop on your own without medication. You just have to have the willpower to do so.

I did. It's easy if you have and do the following.
1) Enough luck and will not to smoke first three days.
2) An anti-axiety drug made of medicinal herbs (in my case I used NOVOPASSIT). I drank it as prescribed on the bottle. Three times per day. But sometimes I drank it when the wish to smoke was really bad, then I drank the next portion of NOVOPASSIT and soothed the nervousness.
3) Then I bought a lot of medicinal herbs in small boxes from drug store and started to drink only the tea (if it can be called so) that I made myself. It's easy – a spoon or two of the herb and hot water, have the mug to cool off for 10 minutes and drink it.
4) Do not go if your smoking companion says let's have a smoke. Do not try, just do not go anywhere where you can smell smoke.
5) Do not drink or party, because it is dangerous to what you have started. Later on you will be able to drink and not smoke. But not at the beginning.
6) the wish to smoke is very reluctant to go away, it is reccurent. Being nervous, stress, tiredness can easily lead to your surrender back to smoking. Therefore try not to get tired, stressed or nervous.
7) There is a medicinal nerb called setwell or common valerian. Take a couple of spoons of its roots (they sell it) – put in your mug and pour hot water. Even if you sniff it it'll have a soothing effect on you. Just wait 5 minutes and drink it. IT'll set you mind at ease. this herb is very useful. There is also another herb called motherwort. It is also good.
So, also you have to try to watch yourself. Your mind totally depends on you body. If you are weak – that means your body is weak. Help you r mind by influencing your body. The herbs can give you emergency help when the wish to smoke becomes overcoming. Do not wait. Drink herb tea and sooth your mind. Whne your mind is quiet then you can beat any bad wish. It is good to have quiet mind. You'll understand that. And that quietness of mind will be different and very good. I mean do not think that smoking is such a awfull habit that can not be beaten. Go in for sports. I play soccer. And it is so good – to feel tired after a good play.
Remember do something so that blood in your body runs actively. Get a couple dumbbells and do exercises.

Try to set a limit each day. Every day make the limit smaller. once you get to 1 cigarette, you have almost quit smoking.

try to eat a sucker as if it was a ciga. its the movement of the hand that is a addictive
