Does diet and exercise help your mental health?

I have gone through a bought with mental illness and I wanted to know will it help if I ate healthier and exercised would it help me mentally?

Think that your mind is just the working of a part of your body that is the brain, so if a perfect chemical balance is in your body then your brain that is a part of it will work better producing better thoughts and feelings. For example some people just improve their intelligence by improvind their blood's circulation and so help themselves with herbs like Gingko Biloba. A better diet puts better substances in our body and exercise change the methabolism namely how your body processes the nutrients you give it, from all of this your body and therefore your mind work better.
